Lower Merion’s Shane Brown is Main Line Boys Athlete of the Week

The senior striker was a powerful offensive presence for the Aces last fall, scoring seven goals for the Central League champions. He received first team All-Main Line honors and second team All-Central League recognition as Lower Merion (21-2-1) was undefeated during the regular season, and finished third in the PIAA District 1 4A tourney. Off the pitch, Brown participates in Unified Track, in which students work with special needs youths who compete in track meets.

Lower Merion’s Cecilia Denis is Main Line Girls Athlete of the Week

A senior, Cecilia Denis has been a first team All-Central League tennis selection at first singles for the past three years. Last fall, she was a first team All-Main Line girls’ tennis selection, posted a 12-2 record, was the Lower Merion team captain and was the Aces’ Most Valuable Player.

Conestoga’s Charlie Miller is Main Line Boys Athlete of the Week

A senior, Charlie Miller finished 41st at the PIAA cross country state championships last fall and received the Pioneers’ Most Valuable Player award. He also was a standout runner for Conestoga’s indoor track team last winter in the two-mile run and the 5K. A National Honors Society member, he carries a 4.94 weighted GPA and is a Section Leader in the Conestoga Marching Band, for which he plays trombone. He also played in the Pit Orchestra for the school musical, and is a member of Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra and Tri-M (Music Honor Society).
