Congratulations to the following athletes from the Central League named to the All Delco teams.
First Team
Sydney Jones, Haverford: The senior outside hitter was under consideration for Daily Times Player of the Year honors. Jones had an amazing senior campaign as she guided the Fords to a share of the Central League championship and trip to the second round of the PIAA Class 4A tournament. Jones was selected to the All-Central League team and named all-state by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association. Also a track and field All-Delco, she will further her career at Penn State.
Jillian Surkis, Strath Haven: The senior outside hitter excelled for a 15-5 Panthers team that advanced to the quarterfinal round of the District 1 Class 4A playoffs. Surkis averaged 13.4 kills per match (282 total). An All-Central League honoree, Surkis added 121 digs and 43 aces. Haven coach Mary Kirchner said Surkis was, “a team captain and key to our success this year.” She will continue her career at Franklin & Marshall.
