The sophomore ice hockey forward is leading the Central League (as of Dec. 16) in scoring, with 18 goals and 12 assists. Four of his goals have been game-winners, including two overtime game-deciding goals. Lower Merion boys’ ice hockey head coach Dan Harkins said, “He’s been so good, that he has become a target of the opposition to try and shut him down offensively, but the league has been largely unsuccessful in doing so. Doing what Sam has done as only a sophomore, and with such a big target on him every night has been remarkable.”
