Luke D’Ancona came through with a run-scoring single and recorded five strikeouts across three innings to lead Strath Haven to a 2-1 Central League victory over Marple Newtown.
D’Ancona registered the save for starting pitcher Alex ***, who tossed three shutout innings, striking out three. Zane Malarkey also hurled one solid inning relief for the Panthers.
Jake McDonough was 2-for-4 with an RBI double and run scored.
Bennett Cox was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Tigers. Kevin Taraborell reached base three times with two singles and a walk, and Aiden Pearson threw 4.2 shutout innings of relief.
