Determined Kane delivers winner for Springfield

Maddie Kane would not be denied.

After two of her goals were called back due to infractions, the Springfield sophomore finally scored one that counted. Kane delivered the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Cougars past Garnet Valley, 9-8.

Kane (two assists), Erin DeStefano, Allie Hunter and Claire Lynch all netted two goals. Lynch’s draw control set up Kane’s winner in the extra session. Maddy McBride made seven saves in net for Springfield.

Maddie Shoemaker and Mia Zebley (four draw controls, two caused turnovers) each had two goals and two assists for the Jaguars. Jenny Green produced a goal and four draw controls.
