Congratulations to the following Central League runners who were named to the All Delco Teams.

1st Team

Grace Forbes, Strath Haven– see Runner of the Year article

Mike Donnelly, Haverford– see Runner of the Year article

Sophie Cohen, Penncrest: The freshman finished second in her first Delco Meet. After placing 25th at the Central League Meet, she qualified for states by taking 23rd place at the District 1 Class 3A finals. She was the third finisher from Delaware County at the state meet. “She’s a tough runner,” Penncrest coach Bob Brown said. “Ultra-competitive. Hates to lose.”

Megan Cook, Upper Darby: The senior took eighth place at the Delco Meet, then came back with a seventh-place finish at the Central League Meet. By placing in the top 50 at districts, she earned the right to compete at the state championships, in which she was the fifth-highest finisher from Delaware County.

Paige Day, Strath Haven: A sophomore who ran in the JV race at Delcos in 2017, she took sixth place in the 2018 varsity race, then placed fifth at the Central League Meet. She was Haven’s No. 2 runner at districts and qualified for states, in which she had the second-fastest time among county runners behind her teammate Forbes.

Brendan Campbell, Haverford: The senior was the fourth-place finisher at the Delco Meet as the Fords earned their first team championship. He placed 10th at the Central League Championships and was his team’s No. 3 runner at districts as Haverford advanced to states, where he was the Fords’ No. 4 finisher. “He raced very well every race,” Haverford coach Harry Green said.

Josh Fingerhut, Haverford: A junior, he earned All-Delco second team honors last fall. After finishing third at the 2018 Delco Meet for the team champion Fords, Green said of the junior “he had an especially impressive race.” He was his team’s No. 4 runner at Centrals and districts, then was Delaware County’s fifth-fastest finisher at the PIAA Championships in Hershey.

Sean Garrett, Garnet Valley: A junior, he made the All-Delco second team last fall. He came in seventh at the Delco Meet, then placed sixth at the Central League Championships. He was Delaware County’s fourth-fastest finisher at the District 1 Meet, and also was the fourth Delco runner to cross the finish line at states in Hershey.

Evan Peetros, Haverford: A senior who was a member of the All-Delco second team in 2017, he placed sixth at the Delco Meet for the team champion Fords, then helped the team take the Central League Meet title with a fifth-place finish. He was Haverford’s No. 2 runner at the district meet and was the seventh Delco runner to cross the finish line at states. “He simply keeps working and working like few athletes can or do,” Green said.

Patrick Theveny, Penncrest: The junior earned a second All-Delco nomination after placing fifth at the Delco Meet and second at Centrals. He earned a second trip to the state meet with a 13th-place finish at the District 1 Championships, and had the second-fastest time among Delco runners at Hershey, taking 42nd place, 20 places higher than his 2017 finish.

Ethan Zeh, Radnor: He was runner-up at the Bulldog Invitational as well as at the Delco Meet, then placed fourth at the Central League Championships. He qualified for states with his 17th-place finish in districts, and was Delaware County’s third finisher at the PIAA Championships in Hershey.
