NETHER PROVIDENCE — As the clock wound into the fourth quarter Tuesday night, the score that Garnet Valley’s boys lacrosse team was most concerned about was being broadcast from five miles down the road.
It’s a privilege the Jaguars earned in a 16-6 win over Strath Haven that was resolved quickly enough to earn a share of the program’s first Central League title and turn attention to Penncrest’s encounter with Marple Newtown. The Lions survived a scare in a 12-10 win to share the title, news that didn’t arrive until after the Jags had mobbed the field and doused coach Frank Urso with Gatorade.
