Boys TFCAGP Meet
Delco’s field dominance brought home three goals, including a win for Strath Haven’s Colin Waitzman in the pole vault (13-0). Sam Pisano of Penncrest was third in the high jump while Penncrest’s Mike Arndt was second in the shot put. Radnor’s Andre Kelly was fastest in the 400, his time of 52.78 outkicking Strath Haven’s Ahmir Gordon (53.49) for the win.
Penncrest’s 4×400 relay claimed gold, the team of Brendan Hanna, Dion Durnell, Soham Kamat and Evan Emanuel clocking in at 3:36.60, two spots ahead of Strath Haven. Radnor’s foursome won the 4×800 in 8:28.01, .42 seconds and a place ahead of Penncrest. Academy Park was second in the 4×200, while Haverford School and Springfield claimed second and third, respectively, in the distance medley relay.
In the Division I Meet:
Haverford’s Justin Moscoe won the 200-meter dash in 23.50, then the Fords took home the 4×200 relay in 1:37.53, both times qualifying for the Meet of Champions.Upper Darby’s Akeim Thomas was victorious in the 60-meter hurdles, qualifying for states in a time of 8.52 seconds.
Girls DVGTCA Meet
Ridley’s Val McLaughlin left Lehigh with two medals Saturday, winning the long jump and taking fourth in the 60-meter dash at the DVGTCA Meet No. 2. McLaughlin’s leap of 17 feet, 4-3/4 inches was the best by seven inches in the long jump. In the 60, her time of 8.13 was a place behind Penncrest’s Alicia Collier (8.00). McLaughlin’s teammate Maddy Moore was second in the 300 in 44.80. Upper Darby’s Tina Lee was second in the 1,000 and Briana Artis of Penncrest was third in the 200.
The best-placed relay of the day was Garnet Valley’s 4×800 squad of Skyler Berardi, Amanda Kodis, Julia Hellman and Tish Minford, which finished second.
