SPRINGFIELD — Springfield’s girls lacrosse team wanted this one real bad.
In a rematch of last season’s District One and PIAA championship games, Springfield and Garnet Valley clashed at Halderman Field Tuesday afternoon on similar trajectories. Both teams had more questions than answers coming into the year, yet there was never any doubt they are two of the top teams in the Central League.
They may look different, with several of 2014’s key players off at top-flight college programs, but the rivalry remains as heated today as it was on that sunny June 2014 afternoon in Hershey.
