High school graduation is supposed to be a momentous, joyous, and unforgettable occasion. But what if, instead of enjoying the pomp and circumstance, you stewed under your cap and gown, still seething after losing your last game?
Fortunately for Maggie Stetson and the departing seniors of the Conestoga girls’ lacrosse team, their 9-4 semifinal win against Radnor ensured a blissful graduation Tuesday night. The 2 p.m. start time was designed to give the girls enough time to make it to their ceremony at 7.
“We were like, ‘We’re not going to graduation sad,’ ” Stetson said after the Pioneers’ victory at Haverford High School. “We’re winning this game and getting our principal [Amy Meisinger] to say, ‘Way to go, girls’ lacrosse!’ ”
