Boys lacrosse: Harriton’s Jack Veasey is Main Line Boys Athlete of the Week

Posted On: Tuesday, May 12, 2015
By: ldevlin

The senior midfielder and captain led the Harriton boys lacrosse squad in points and assists, with 22 goals and 19 assists as of May 11. The Rams are enjoying their best season since 2001, and Harriton boys’ lacrosse head coach Joe Proud said, “We rely on Jack for his defensive and ‘ between the lines’ play more than any other two-way midfielder on the team. He plays wing on the face-offs, is called on to clear the ball and to possess the ball at the end of the game when we are in the lead. While his stats are strong, he does so many things for us that don’t show up for his personal stats, but have made it possible for us to win games.’

Jack Veasey’s top picks

Book: The Great Gatsby.

TV show: Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.

Movie: Remember the Titans.

Pre-game pump-up song: Every Time We Touch, by Cascada.

Athlete: Drew Brees.

Person I most admire: “My dad, Sam Veasey. The reason I admire him most is because no matter what, he is always happy and understands the true meaning of life. I have never met someone who is more comfortable with who they are than he is. He also is a very dedicated father. He is at every game and is the loudest Harriton fan!’

Team: Philadelphia Eagles.

Place to visit: Ocean City, N.J.
